hey cohost you got any interesting video essays you'd recommend? I need stuff to listen to while I color in the lines.

I mean anything by dan olsen at folding ideas is a gimme, his vid about jamie oliver and chicken nuggets is a great time waster. Philosophy tube and hbomb got some bangers too. Whats your poison?

Jacob Geller's essays are interesting! He does a lot of horror, the first one I watched was "gross games about flesh and stuff"

OH in the same vein he did a good one on haunted houses I LOVE, "control, anatomy, and the legacy of the haunted house"

Depends on what you're looking for

Anything Super Eyepatch Wolf or hbomberguy put out are all quality shit
SovietWomble just published a 3 hour video on The Forest and how weird it is
If you're into TF2, elmaxo's stuff is usually pretty good
Quinton Reviews has the most unhinged shit about the insanity of Nickelodeon sitcoms and gets my highest recommendation, its like 25 something hours of content in total and he's not even done yet

I will second Super Eyepatch Wolf! Especially his videos about wrestling. He's great at cutting the fat and really exploring what makes it a unique media form. Hbomberguy's video on the oof sound was a RIDE.

I'll also throw in: the leftist cooks, f.d. signifier, fundie Fridays, philosophytube, colormind, Ro Ramdin, Were In Hell and Jenny Nicholson. Jenny does some pretty hefty videos on the time end. And she's so great at talking about extremely esoteric interests.

Folding Ideas does really interesting deep dives into stuff like NFTs, YouTube influencer courses, and the metaverse, Adam Conover's weekly podcast can have cool guests, sometimes The Financial Diet does interesting looks at scammy stuff from a more finance oriented perspective and Some More News is generally longer form sociopolitical stuff.

Apparently I like listening to people talk about why bullshit is in fact bullshit.

i like izzzyzzz for retrospectives on 2000s-2010s internet stuff, pim's crypt for horror videos and amelie doree for old visual novel stuff. mike's mic put out a recap of lost (season 1) that i haven't watched yet but he's done pretty little liars before and it was super fun. i've a bunch more reccs over on my links page but i don't wanna overwhelm you lol
