Someone else who's been reading up on Lancer, how viable do y'all think a melee build is with the Horus Goblin frame?

I figure if I take the prospector talent for burrowing/an aoe attack, maybe the prototype weapon talent to add more guns, the gms core ability that lets you slap on another flex mount and the blackbeard's chain axe and synthetic muscle I could have a highly mobile attacker with good hacking range with the raw muscle to headlock size 2-3 mechs. Like if a hummingbird could hit you with grown man weight behind it

Thinking of calling the mech design The Varmint

in reply to @Boog's post:

The goblin has 0 Armor, 6 HP, and Fragile which gives it difficulty on all Hull checks and saves. Fragile is going to hamper its ability to grapple.

Are you interested in a small grappler or a hacker that can do CQC? I think the vision is achievable but not with the Goblin.

don't need third party to make this happen. this hasn't been tested but should be reasonably effective and reasonably durable

the Game Plan is to use titanomachy and synthetic muscle netting to be an ungodly pain in the ass knocking people over. comb. arms gives you soft cover almost always. boost as often as possible to maximize rapid maneuver jets uptime, or use the RMJ shield for Smite to provide improved target control. build up Brawler charges and do the fully charged thing to enemies, leaning on Open Door and your silly save target to get likely big hits. we bypass the issue of fragile by simply never grappling; grappling is for big boys, and we are nothing but synthetic muscles. ram, ram again, ram a few more times for good measure. maybe find time for a hack, if you want.

also just realized it has a Suldan piece in there (enhanced system upgrades) but you can swap that for a mount upgrade or something. maybe could shuffle licenses to make an IPS-N armor or HP upgrade happen? there's a pretty good chunk of space for optimization (jugg 3 not that useful) but i leave that to the reader

also, this may be more unhinged than you were looking for. but it's a proof of concept at least!

oh, one more option - drop minotaur and take dusk wing to grab some alternate tech stuff and also the hilariously effective flicker projector. you might have to shuffle some cores around but it wouldn't break anything i don't think. does mean your funny punches aren't irreducible as much, but eh, the big one already isn't, so oh well
