I'm still wrestling with how to do the line art/inks on To Wander. I'm assuming it is obvious that I'm poorly mimicking Moebius' line style. I'm getting an idea why he made a lot of marks on his pages. We call it details and I'm fairly sure that is context he talked about it in interviews but those dots, hash marks, and debris bits are for texture and filling spaces. It is there to imply light sources, control contrast (as best as one can in line art), and help lead the eye through an image (and presumably a page). When he says he spend the later parts of his career learning how to draw more with less (or whatever terms he used) it comes after spending close to a lifetime of learning exactly what can with line art.

It is exhausting.
