It’s super frustrating, and also, it makes it harder for people who are self-sufficient at basic daily self-care (or at least mostly self-sufficient, like I just need help making meals or otherwise acquiring food) but can’t work or keep track of long term things get recognized as disabled at all. The government won’t listen to me that I can’t work. Because I’m pleasant to talk to and show up to my appointments clean and well-dressed. (distant sounds of teeth ripping something apart)

yeah my grandfather was physically disabled in a way that made walking very difficult his whole life. if he hadnt lived in new york city, life would have been a LOT harder merely bc most buildings having elevators helped him out a lot

my ebike is a mobility aid that gets me places faster with better posture than an electric wheelchair, and doesn't have the stigma or maintenance burden
