Sometimes artist, all-time loaf

I finished the main story line of Sand Land and overall I enjoyed it! This is like, maybe the first video game I've played this year? It's hard for me to commit to games, but I was enamored by the desert wasteland environment and vehicle customization and was closely following updates prior to its release. I also wanted to experience Akira Toriyama's style and work and felt it was a really nice way for me to do that (I have never watched dragon ball).

I was pleasantly surprised that despite the premise of building and wielding big, armed to the teeth vehicles, the characters were against killing and would put themselves in the line of danger just to save their enemies. I felt redemption was a reoccurring theme in this game, and the main characters were always fighting for a better world. Interestingly, whenever you shoot at human foot soldiers or bandits within the game you'll see them flee rather than drop dead. I'm not sure how they exactly survive a round of machine gun fire but I guess the game wants to emphasize the characters are careful not to use lethal force (or preserve the T rating).

I'm currently trying to fill my town with new people in the post-game (you rebuild a ghosttown by inviting npcs and new infrastructure is added over time). It's an immensely satisfying side quest and at some points took priority over the main questline haha
