Still jet-lagged and have a bad cold so it's kinda hard to get my thoughts together, but here's some more highlights from my recent trip to Toronto!

Asides from the comic shops Sadie and I visited, we ate a lot of food I missed! It was so nice having a Tim Hortons coffee and donut again... and I made sure Sadie got to try TimBits! She really liked them... I knew she would! The other fast food we both liked was Harvey's; a Canadian burger chain that was my favorite when I still lived there. It was just as good as I remember it being, and Sadie thought it was the best fast food burgers she ever had. I wish they were in Japan! We had some great pizza from a local shop too. The lady there even remembered my name after we came back there!

We got to watch two movies while we were there; the first was Lawrence of Arabia in 70mm at the Bell Lightbox, which was an incredible experience! The film, for all it's faults, looked beautiful, and having the overture and intermission made it feel really special. We also caught a screening of The Boy and the Heron, which I mostly really liked, though it's not my favorite Miyazaki film. Outside of theaters, Sadie and I watched a bunch of stuff streaming while high, which I think I'll detail in another post later. Long story short, I dunno if weed is for me!

We weren't far from Ripley's Aquarium, so we just HAD to have a date there... <3 The turtles there were so cute, and so were the sharks! There was a really goofy looking one Sadie said was a cat shark....? My favorite of course is always going to be the jellyfish. They're so pretty and ethereal~

In general, the city itself was... cold! And this was an unusually warm winter... but I was still freezing! I had forgotten how cold it really got, and how late the sun rose and how early it set... it's no wonder I have seasonal depression. For her part, Sadie handled the cold much better than me, despite that she's from Florida originally... There wasn't any snow except for the last full day we spent there, where it snowed a lot! Sadie had been hoping for snow, so I'm glad she got her wish!

Despite the weather, I felt really welcome in the city! Lots of little shops with pride flags, and that great sign I got a picture of the a record shop called Emissions! Nobody misgendered me either, and it felt so nice being called "miss" and "ma'am". Honestly, I'd love to live here... I just know that I could never afford it. My friend Matty who lives here told me all about how things are getting more and more expensive, and I believe them! I guess it's nice for a visit, but it must be really tough to live there.

Overall it was a nice trip! I'll be back there someday, probably in a few years... for now I'm happy to be back where the wind doesn't hurt my face!
