Once my new game gets announced I need you all to do me a favour. Cohost's not gonna be around for you to share an announcement post on, so it would be a huge help if you could share it around elsewhere. Tweet about it. Tell your friends about it. Drop the trailer in the gaming channels of Discord servers you're in. Talk about it on whatever of the million platforms we're all scattering to that you're on. If we want this game to do well, it's important for it to make a big splash with the announcement, but it's not something I can do alone. Word of mouth is by far the best form of advertising, and it's free and fun to share things you think are neat. Spreading the word is a huge help. Thank you, love you, have a good day πŸ’›

Sharing this again, because... I've been thinking lately that Stomp is probably gonna be my last attempt at making full time game dev work. If this game doesn't do better than Frogsong, I just can't keep trying this anymore. I don't wanna end up going into my 30s still just scraping by, completely uncertain how long my money will last, praying my parents will be able to help out if everything suddenly comes crashing down. I've had a couple days where I just can't get any work done because I'm too worried about marketing and budget and engagement and all that. And maybe making art full time is always gonna be like that, but if I can make more money I'll at least be more confident and comfortable and can take breaks more often.

So... please, if you enjoyed Frogsong, or you didn't enjoy Frogsong but think I have potential, or if you've never even heard of Frogsong before but you're just passionate about indie games in general, it would mean the world to me if you spread the word around once this game's announced. I was really looking forward to posting about it here, but, well... guess that's not happening. This mailing list will let you know when the news drops, and if you don't like what you see, there's no harm in unsubscribing later. But I think you will like what you see.

Thank you to everyone who's supported me on this journey so far. I really couldn't do this without you all.

Listen. I've been working on a new game over the past year and it's turning out really good. I'm planning on publicly announcing it later this year, but unfortunately that means there isn't enough time left on Cohost for you to see it here.

BUT. I have a mailing list. You'll get news about this game emailed directly to you. No need for any social media account, and no fear that a website will suddenly disappear without warning.

This game is going to be good. And if you've enjoyed anything I've posted here, I think you're gonna love it when the time comes.

It's almost time to learn about Stomp and the Sword of Miracles. You won't wanna miss it.

I've talked about it a bit on stream, but everything fucking SUCKS for everyone in the games industry right now. If you care about games at all, show as much support to developers as you can, especially the small indies. And this isn't just like, some sly way of me asking for support - because I'm not gonna be sly about this, if you like what I do at all please tell your friends about my work and subscribe to my Patreon if you have a few dollars a month to spare! - I just wanna say that every recent indie game you've enjoyed, every future release you're excited about, all of it is in a very precarious place right now. We all need all the support we can get.

I hate talking about my Patreon all the time, but at the beginning of the month one of our roommates suddenly ghosted us and it's become clear they don't plan on coming back or paying this month's rent. I covered the extra rent this month because I was the only one with enough money in their bank account. Rent's going up for all of us by several hundred dollars until we get things sorted out, and I'm already mostly just scraping by, so extra financial support would mean the world to me.

If you haven't played my most recent game, Frogsong is a queer game about a queer little frog and their struggle to prove their worth. It's only $15 and it has great reviews, and my little team and I put a lot of love into it.

I've been working on a new game that's way too early to announce, but I already know it's going to be even better than Frogsong. I've been talking about it on my Patreon if you want an early sneak peek. I just animated and prototyped a bunch of enemies last week and I'm going to be posting about these guys soon.

I know these blurry vague images I've been posting don't really do a good job of selling it, I'm just really hoping to make a good first impression when I announce it.

If you want to send a few dollars my way and get a sneak preview of this new game, my Patreon is here:

Thank you so much πŸ™
