Once my new game gets announced I need you all to do me a favour. Cohost's not gonna be around for you to share an announcement post on, so it would be a huge help if you could share it around elsewhere. Tweet about it. Tell your friends about it. Drop the trailer in the gaming channels of Discord servers you're in. Talk about it on whatever of the million platforms we're all scattering to that you're on. If we want this game to do well, it's important for it to make a big splash with the announcement, but it's not something I can do alone. Word of mouth is by far the best form of advertising, and it's free and fun to share things you think are neat. Spreading the word is a huge help. Thank you, love you, have a good day π
Sharing this again, because... I've been thinking lately that Stomp is probably gonna be my last attempt at making full time game dev work. If this game doesn't do better than Frogsong, I just can't keep trying this anymore. I don't wanna end up going into my 30s still just scraping by, completely uncertain how long my money will last, praying my parents will be able to help out if everything suddenly comes crashing down. I've had a couple days where I just can't get any work done because I'm too worried about marketing and budget and engagement and all that. And maybe making art full time is always gonna be like that, but if I can make more money I'll at least be more confident and comfortable and can take breaks more often.
So... please, if you enjoyed Frogsong, or you didn't enjoy Frogsong but think I have potential, or if you've never even heard of Frogsong before but you're just passionate about indie games in general, it would mean the world to me if you spread the word around once this game's announced. I was really looking forward to posting about it here, but, well... guess that's not happening. This mailing list will let you know when the news drops, and if you don't like what you see, there's no harm in unsubscribing later. But I think you will like what you see.
Thank you to everyone who's supported me on this journey so far. I really couldn't do this without you all.
