If yes or no please just explain why.

The rumours are out again about the Switch 2, this time dev kits getting around.
Not any word on BC, so we'll have to wait of course, but I just do not believe that the majority of people would not get one if BC wasn't there.
Just imagine them releasing a hybrid with PS4 specs and some great games for launch like the rumoured Mario Kart 9.

Just curious =)

If the BC department would boost the older games performance or add something I would be more excited for it of course, but just BC like they have done so far is a nice bonus but far from a must. Especially if it has new bells and whistles with them new games.

Then again I'm a console collector, so I am a bit in the fringe zone here =)

If there is no bc. I would become a puritan, a born again virgin. Destined to never caress the fabled nintindium plastic. Watching angrily at my peers as they laugh and show each other the new Mario’s, Zelda’s, and Switch pro sports.

Alone I carry the burden, crying in pain as my old switch has finally kicked the bucket.

Or I will get the new shiney still. But be a little upset.

Mario KArt 9 for release is the rumour. That alone might not be enough for many, but it would be a damn fine start. Would at least get my attention.

Throw in a new game from Platinum and I am already sold =D But I'm a sucker for P games =)

If they do something with the VR patents and actually add VR I'll preorder withing a nanosecond.

I'm a big mark for Platinum as well. Mario Kart is by far the best selling game on Switch--I got MK8D and BotW when I got my Switch, though I already had both for Wii U. If the next system gets similarly updated titles, I'll probably wait for a bit.
The backwards compatibility thing is my biggest sticking point though. I have a little over 400 physical switch games, so yeah, I'm kinda invested, lol.

Sure, I'll keep my Switch, but it would really be nice to be able to upscale previous games on newer hardware and not have to constantly jump back and forth. I haven't turned on my Xbox one in years and similar with ps4. Those games are better on the new hardware and I can clear some space in the media center.

Yup. Once again there are games on my ps5 that are on external hdd that don't get the advantage of ssd or upscale.
The mere addition of more powerful hardware would still help games with open framerates. Even if it's small, some games will function better. When the wii came out, I gave my GameCube to a friend. When the wii u came out, I gave my wii to a coworker. I bought an unlocked wii a couple years later, but if I can give my switch away, I'd be happy with that.
