魚雷 (gyorai)is a jukugo word, or a compound word made of "fish" and "thunder" and means "torpedo". Well it moves under water and fish move underwater and torpedos also makes a big bada boom sound. So why not? =D
恐竜(kyouryuu) is another jukugo. This here is "scary dragon". Not all dragons are scary but those with lots of pointy teeth and/or horns or even short odd arms with no obvious use as totally scary. Yes, this is "dinosaur" xD The non-scary dragons are wise and dog-like, really. At least the Asian ones.
逃げる (nigeru) this means "to escape" but it's the sounding which is kinda funny here. It lead to Japanese Apex Legend players getting banned because it sounds like the N slur which isn't very popular in the West, especially in North America.
It's completely stupid since an completely different language having a word that is similar to another but has a very different meaning is actually not that uncommon. Me learning my fifth language see this all the time.
Oh well! A little funzy for today =)
