So the rumours of an upgrade to BOTW for Switch 2 is on the loose. But, as the title here asks, would you pay for an upgrade? The devs do have to work on updates, they also cost money and take time to make so if it's a 10-ish USD update I know I would go for it.

EDIT: I was thinking of an actual, good upgrade. Loading and framerates should a given on new hardware, but I am thinking about perhaps, if possible, adding ray-tracing and the likes.

Ironically Breath (and Tears) are about the only games I'd bother upgrading, whether it costs money or not. Mostly I only buy upgrades and remasters when the original isn't available, so I only care when a big part of the game's appeal is its visual beauty.

I don't think any game I'd want to replay needs it badly. Even Bayonetta 3.
In this hypothesis, does the game need significant work to be done on it to run at a higher/stable framerate and with a better resolution ? I'm kind of expecting that to be free tbh.

For just performance improvements? No, I think that should be a baseline part of backwards compatibility.

For presentation improvements (ray tracing and whatnot)? No, it's not something I feel strongly enough about to justify paying for.

Honestly, even if a re-release came with exclusive bonus content, I'm not sure I'd pony up the extra money for it for most games. I definitely wouldn't for Zelda (but then, I've always kinda had it out for Zelda, so I might be a tad biased.)

But for another game? Perhaps, but still probably unlikely.
