I had to force myself to turn it off since my adrenaline and dopamine pumps are on a max! That says enough, but just a little extra ;)

The game looks amazing. Way better than on YT vids. OK, on a 4K TV with HDR of course it looks better. Point is that the game just looks superb, better than thought.
I noticed the main inspirations instantly while playing, butt, it soon becomes more of it's own thing. So one worry out of the way.
Great lighting effects, animations, very good facial details/animation.

The music is also damn fine. Not Nier:A fine because that would be insane, but it's very, truly great. Sets the mood. And mood it has*

Gameplay is kinda of a mix of Souls-like and Bayonetta? It's ruthless, no mercy stuff. But still has a big variety of combos which gives of those Bayo vibes.
And yes, timing is life or death here!
Perfect parry/dodging and then counters for rewards etc, but also different combos with the "do get to know your enemy!" thing.
Basically another worry out of the way. Very satisfying gameplay.

Also, the use of the Dualsence! You can feel that rain =D

Story so far has me intrigued, but I basically know too little to say if it's good or bad. Curious to see who is who, what is what and why is why. Can't imagine it will touch Nier:A levels, but that's not the point. It's it's own thing after all.

Not as over-the-top as Bayonetta or Lollipop Chainsaw though... Knew that.

The "fanservice" with jiggly boobz is there but not as much as in the intro videos. Or hard to focus on them because all the action, but it's very well made when you see it.

Basically a very promising game for those of us who likes this shit. Very so. It went beyond expectations in most ways, and not so much in other departments. I was already sold, now I am not regretting that preorder. Can't wait to get back from work tomorrow and go at it again.

Do NOT, by the way, play this in graphic mode. That needs some serious patching since the framerate drops way too much and the, by comparing, graphical difference isn't even noticeable, really. Play in balanced mode and you'll be fine =)

Well, if you like what the game looks like or not you have to admit these people are dedicated to realize their vision.

This is very much up my alley, this is. With inspirations from Bayonetta and Nier*, two of my fav game IPs, it's no surprise. Damn sexy, stylized protagonist with over the top moves in a apocalyptic and cyberpunk inspired world world? Give me!
*Later on I hear it has more, great inspirations you can see in the tags, but I'll write 'em here too: Battle Angle Alita and even Blade Runner.

Will it be good? Even with such great inspirations the game can suck ass. The Bayonetta inspirations are there, but the game will not have the over-the-top cheesy fun that Bayo games have. Perhaps closer to Astral Chan. And it's not exactly easy to make such a great, original and in-depth story Nier has, especially Automata. But I hope they they do their own thang and make it a good enough experience.
From what I have seen so far it sure is looking promising, and thus the preorder which is rare with me =) It was also 849 NOK, which is 80.88 USD =D

For the childish "controversy": No, Shin Jae-eun, does not look like a 12 year old. That must have been the most desperate damage control excuse I have ever seen xD She's a fine woman. And even BOTW used mo-cap tech, so it would be no surprise that so did the devs of this game, but used her as a model for Eve.
But not surprised by the internet, where I have been told I will go to HEll for not believing in bigfoot so whatevs, just surprised someone from DF took this up.

So basically there's a rumour out there that there'll be a Bayonetta trilogy coming to Switch 2 with (the obvious) Visual and performance enhancements. Visuals will include HDR.

You can also upgrade the Switch games for the better experience.

I saw it in a couple of YT videos (posting one here now) so it's a source from a source... And needs it's salt.

What's interesting here is not only will there be BC, but some sort of enhancements, be them patched or not. Going with patches here, but hey!
