the most fun thing you can do in a tabletop one-shot is make your character a joke, hide it from every other player, consistently hint at it throughout the game, then reveal it at the last moment like a grant dramatic plot
An alternative: Make your character a joke so bad that the GM demands you change it before you've finished introducing them.
I hit perfect middle ground between these two and got the DM so angry he used someone else failing a spell to retcon MY ENTIRE CHARACTER OUT OF EXISTENCE
