Wait, are dragons therian, or otherkin? (I mean, anything that can be therian can also be otherkin, depending on how you experience it -- I experience being a mouse in a way that fits the otherkin concept better than the therian one -- but, like, you can't be a dark elf or fairy therian at all, so...)
you know i have no idea about the Technicalities of the Terminologies. my attitude is very like... "dragons don't exist in our irl world but i vibe with them on too deep a level to call my connection with them anything else" - there's no real spirituality or belief in displaced souls or anything to how i experience it, purely a matter of like... i see so much of myself in this creature, even if it is a creature of myth.
also dragons arent the only thing stewing around my brain. also sharks and cats
plus i've had a long-held belief that pure skepticism, sticking purely to the empirical on every level and never letting yourself have a little whimsy and a little belief in what people would call "unscientific" or "absurd", is bad for your mental health. there's a difference between making your decisions based on empircism and indulging in it on a personal level if that makes sense
therian can also mean that you identify with something in a more animalistic way. i know plenty of dragon therians, and i use therian for myself even though what i am is definitely not found on this planet
True! Hence why I always describe myself as mouse-kin or similar, instead of a therian.
