a fun thing about reading old erotica is that you quickly realize there is no erotica so old that people didn't know about:
- the clitoris
- the female orgasm
- oral sex (both ways)
- anal sex (also both ways)
- etc.
it's one of those "medieval people didn't wash themselves" stereotypes but I feel like a lot of people sort of implicitly believe sex was all furtive missionary quickies before approx. 1960, and oh no. no no no no no. they knew how to fuck. when it comes to sex, people don't just not try things. and you can see the horny writers treat all these acts as well-known concepts. people have known how to fuck for a real long time.
