But I do really appreciate having a middle ground for interacting with friends when I can’t think of anything worthwhile to actually say!

i have a friend who ONLY does this, rarely ever talks, and its ALWAYS a delight to see that they're lurking and listening <3 i also know someone else who lurks and spells out words in emoji reactions too and they're a delight to see too
