@raptor-on-a-bicycle asked:

What if the Korps started an intramural hockey league?

I mean if one already exists @paulabraydi created it, I know her and I talked korps sports (or sporps, if you will) back in the day, and we do both love hockey and quote letterkenny at each other all the time

It's a mixed bag because a lot of korps folk are canadian or canadian adjacent, and there's a bunch who love hockey for hockey, because it's what we were raised with, a lot of us spent time on the ice, and god it's a fun game that moves quick—

But there's also a bunch of trans women in the korps who avoid it for the same reasons that a lot of american trans women avoid football: when it's treated as the pinnacle of masculinity in your culture, there'a good chance you were forced to engage with it to affirm that masculinity. Often, against one's will. I think it's telling that korps football comes up even less as a concept than hockey.

Still, the idea of an entire team of karenclones vs an entire team of people on drone gear head to toe is too good to pass up, so have that juicy little morsel to chew on

Word. I feel that. Does the korps hold any other intramural competitions?

Well, the korps is a widespread collective of authors and artists and it's hard for me to speak for everybody, especially since I am decidedly behind on keeping up with what everyone is putting out these days...

...but that being said, I am directly responsible for one of them, along with @syntax-takes:
KORPS
CHAMPIONSHIP
WRESTLING

KCW is exactly what you think it is. Pro-wrestling, but extremely queer and horny. We started fleshing it out partly from a mutual love of wrestling. Syn's character Volta had a long stint as a wrestler under the name of Veronica Sparks, and it became part of one of my stories that in-universe Andréa was Volta's tag-team-partner-with-benefits under the alias Rena Nocturne, or "Mrs. Self-Destruct". Nocturne's signature finisher was "The Downward Spiral", a flying corkscrew stunner à la Ember Moon's Eclipse. It's a fun space to play around in and while we never really fleshed out any concrete rules or rosters it kept the spirit of wrestling in our hearts and kept it queer enough to give Vince Mcmahon an aneurysm.

I dunno if we ever did anything with the idea in KADET planning chat, but there's the strong possibility of all the engineering/technology/mad science subdivisions having either a traditional robotics competition or a battlebots league.

probably two tiers, one for traditional rules, and one for "yeah fuck it put the miniaturized death ray on the robot"
