Since we're apparently about to be seeing hit pieces trying to paint authors as ignorant reactionaries for, checks notes, not wanting their writing stolen, it's important to remember the context: SAG-AFTRA and WGA are still on strike. Over, among other things, whether "AI" with the sarcastic quotes is allowed to steal your writing, your voice, your likeness in order to replace you and delete your livelihood.
An attack on one group of people's objections to "AI" is an attack on the other's, and if the uninformed observer doesn't realize those two groups are the same? Well there's your rhetorical strategy.
Treat any take you see implying "AI" writing is innocent, that authors are over-reacting, not just as ill-informed, bad-faith, and arising out of conflict of interest. Treat it as Attempted Strikebreaking.
