those dragons who used to be human, paradoxically, have the hardest time remaining in human disguise. One would think that becoming a creature with the natural shapeshifting power to disguise as ones old self is a sweet, cool-i-can-continue-my-old-life-and-turn-into-a-dragon-only-for-big-fights deal, but almost everyone who has ever been turned into a dragon is so much happier with their wings and scales and tails and fangs that returning to the forms that imprisoned them for so long is... difficult.
The power of shapeshifting relies a lot on self image, and for those former humans who have tasted their draconic truth, it takes an unusual amount of focus hold their old forms. When distracted or flustered many such dragons' human disguises will slip. Their wings sprout in a smaller, flightless form, their tail and horns come back, their pupils return to their slit cat-like shape. Thankfully these "incomplete" human disguises are generally a lot easier to hold, so some dragons choose instead to remain in that and disguise themselves with big hats, big jackets, and dark spectacles instead. Which always looks fucking hilarious.
