how to get that sweet bro and hella jeff look:

resize slightly
save as jpg quality 30, open the new version
sharpen filter
save as jpg quality 30, open the new version
go to step 1

something about the slight resizing really helps pile on the compression artifacts

Oooh, that makes sense. A lot of the "jaggies" are from fringing where there's a solid boundary, shifting that boundary probably makes the math all fuck up and get totally different fringes.
