Mech Pilot who says “watch this” then turns on the strange box they bought off a tweaked out spacer.

The Lapine in the mechtech uniform glared at the feline, then gestured with a brandished wrench at the exposed innards of the feline's striker mech above. A pair of three foot tall heat sinks were laying against one leg, while a scratched and scorched box of highly indeterminate origin, one not even as tall as the port, was half fitted in their place. "What in the bleeding hells did you ONCE AGAIN do to a finely tuned machine, and fresh parts on the ground, ones I pulled a double shift to get you combat ready, which are now right here replaced by, by, by whatever that is?"

"Don't ya worry Henrietta." The feline all but glowing with confidence, "Just need to finagle a few cables, maybe an adapter or three." Multiple cables dangling from the box back to ground level. And this sucker will put them to shame!"

"To once again ask about my ruined work, what is this thing even supposed to do anyway?" The rabbit let out an annoyed sigh, though now that she looked at the metal coating on the cables? Something about it seemed familiar...

"Bargain basement steal down at the bazaar!" Nozomi was still grinning, "Salvage from an ancient battlefield this twe--- excitable spacer brought back from a treasure hunt! Said it was a superpowered coolant system that would boost performance by a good seventeen and a half percent over these standard massfab models used today."

Henrietta buried her face in her paws, "Annnnd now it's starting to make sense. Okay, fine! Because I know you're not gonna shut up about this, and because at least one person officially allowed in the mech bay should be present to make sure you don't cause any more damage, I'll allow it. Just let me get my kit." One quick dig through a storage locker later, and the rabbit came back with an analyzer. Followed by a bit of trial and error between the pair before finding the right order for the connecting hoses. "Ok, flip her on!"

"Watch this!" From up on the scaffolding Nozomi cackled with glee as parts whirred, the box rumbled, and liquid cycled through the analyzer. Then back around without a leak (or an explosion for that matter) For a good three cycles before the rabbit yelled at her to shut it off.

Henrietta's brow furrowed as she looked over the chem readings, followed by a low groan, and her head donking the display on top. "I knew this looked familiar. Nozomi you idiot!"

"Hmm?" The feline leaped down, and the rabbit moved so she could see the readout, "Apples? Yeast? Plain old water? Errr what am I looking at H?"

Henrietta pointed up from her still face down position against the equipment, "It's not a heat sink, it's for making homebrew apple mash!"

Blink... Blink... Nozomi looked from box to rabbit, "So what I'm hearing is that we should get this to one of the supply bays, a nice private corner?"

"Yep." Sighed Henrietta, "Before the commander comes down for an inspection."

"Annnd then we give second shift some extra drinks as incentive to get the heat sinks back in before the drop?"

"Yep."

"And then I get a taste as well? As a reward for this amazing find?"

"Not a chance."

The feline's ears went flat, "You are just no fun at all."
