At any given point, Seras smells like she's been working in an engine for the past 3 hours. Also pine. All the time.

She's never had an interest in having the spray glands herself, but you can rest assured that every combat vehicle she's ever had has some time of chemical spray weapon on it somewhere. She thinks it's good fun.

secret bonus round because I totally don't think about Odists too much and definitely am not at risk of way too many skunks in my head:

Our opinion on skunk smells varies wildly with moods, but we kind of like the smell irl, in that way that manure or hot tar also have a weird semi-nostalgic pleasantness to them. idk, it's weird.

Gloria (not an odist but still a post-self character): Smells like good polish food, but like the kind of good polish food you find in the US where their family recipes have all been tainted by how long their family has been in America. No spray glands, but that was a choice when forking so I don't know if it counts as removed.

To Deny The End Is To Deny All Beginnings: smells like a dive bar after a metal show. would absolutely take the spray glands just to have them. probably forks now and again to change the scent if he thinks it would be fun.

Memory Lies Beneath the Roots: a master of senses and sensations. smells like whatever moves people one way or the other. is not above forking to have spray glands when needed, and the smell is whatever serves her art best. whatever she smells like, good or bad, rest assured it is one of the most intense things you will ever experience.

I’m always torn about this because I want to smell nice (and to me, nice is definitely lavender and citrus) but also musk just has the je ne sais quoi. I guess I’d say I split the difference based on whether or not the context is sexual - the hornier, the more musky.

🦨 Hmm. Quite a good question. I've only briefly considered my own smell(s, as I do switch between different shapes with different smells), but I think this is most accurate:

As a feral non-plush skunk, yep it's the classic musk and spray glands. Can't go wrong with the classics~

When I'm in my anthro/demihuman forms, I've instead noticed more of a vanilla smell. Pleasant, gentle and sweet, and (slightly more awkwardly) still up for spraying if anyone gets too annoying. Which, because I like being mean like that, goes from being gentle to overtly and sickening sweet when I've sprayed it.

And whenever I'm any form of plush skunk, it smells like fabric softener. Whatever smell or brand makes you feel most nostalgic (happy), that's what you sense. And if I spray like that? Imagine every cleaning product in the store poured into one big pool. The smell of that pool, minus any possible pleasant notes remaining from perfumes. The painful chemistry of cleaning. Slightly lower risk of lethal gasses forming!

What does your skunk sona smells like? Or maybe you lack a scent at all?

Dandelions! Usually.

Do you like, hate or have no opinion on skunk scent?

It is not for me, but I am very happy for those who like it.

Do you still have your spray glands?
If yes, do they spray regular skunk musk or something else?
If no, why did you decide your character have them removed?

I have never thought about this, weirdly. Perhaps I ought to own that: I do, but I never remember that I have them. If that is the case, then perhaps they simply spray regular musk, which I also forget about? Shrug!

I feel like my scent is "a big whiff of fur" either tinged with lavender shampoo or post-workout sweat depending on the day, haha. I like skunk scent perfectly fine broadly speaking, but it never clicked as something that I'd identify with! I guess the glands are all there but I wouldn't use 'em

In real life, I'm very sensitive to smells, so that affects my opinions. Skunk scent is okay in very small amounts, but I wouldn't want it around all the time. I even use mostly unscented bath products because I don't want scents following me around.

So I generally think of it like, she would have the normal skunk smell, but is rigorous about cleaning so it's not ever noticeable. Go camping with her and on day 3 it might be there. She probably could spray, but doesn't have reason to.

feel like i have an obligation to answer;
smells like fabric softener
opinion on the whole scent think is... complex. hate hate hate it in the context of myself, but don't really care too much about others. can be a fun tf trigger, but that's all i got. irl i think it smells weirdly not as bad as people make it out to be, smells strong but in a neutral-ish way. but im a fucking weirdo so who knows
and no, they're a plush, they never had any.
shoutouts to cohost skunks, you're all cute and cool :eggbug:

I lack any distinctive scent, but I like bubblegum-scented shampoo.

I am not a fan of musk overall and am inclined to ignore skunk scent when it comes up. However, as a transformation appreciator, I can definitely appreciate different kinds of scented smoke that just... changes, whoever is wrapped up in a skunk tail.

Had no spray glands to begin with! Never thought about 'em.

Oddly enough, I never really thought about it!

What does your skunk sona smells like? Nothing specific, just a general animal 'scent', like I imagine all anthro animals have. Probably stronger than most other animals.

Do you like, hate or have no opinion on skunk scent? I haven't smelled it, so I can't really say. I kind of like weed and don't mind skunk cabbage, so probably fairly neutral.

Do you still have your spray glands? No prior lore here, I think no.
If yes, do they spray regular skunk musk or something else?
If no, why did you decide your character have them removed? I'd say no born with them to evade the question entirely.
