I'm constantly torn between loving cars for the absolutely incredible amount of engineering that wanted to make them what they are and how they function, and that applies to a lesser degree anything with a motor, it's all fascinating to me
And on the other paw having really strong environmental opinions and persuasions, and that anything that has a motor in it, especially a combustion motor, is actively causing the problems that are causing an environmental apocalypse all around us. I don't talk about it much but I've been working in cars in one way or another for the past 5 years and while on the one hand it really has opened my eyes to how much amazing engineering led us to create these machines that can do incredible incredible things, they are also going to be our downfall because we cannot let go of them long enough to fundamentally change both them and ourselves.
