posted something like this before but: when AI guys say AI is too dangerous and needs to be regulated, it's not fear. it's an ad.

the ad pitch is their product is too good.

and way too many journalists are falling for it, completely

Scientists at CERN have found evidence that Super Tactical Gun Gamble Royale may be too fun, posing a major health and safety risk to anyone who isn't a "hardcore enough gamer."

This follows on the heels of yesterday's warning issued by the CDC that the fast paced thrills and meaningful player driven decisions create "a perfect storm of serotonin and dopamine swirling inside the skull, permanently obliterating any consciousness of external responsibilities, anxieties, pain, or bodily needs."

In a public statement on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the game's developers made it clear that, "while we hope some legal safeguards are put in place to protect the noobs and casuals, unfortunately this genie is out of the bottle and all we can do is advise people to avoid logging into Steam and purchasing Super Tactical Gun Gamble Royale for $14.99 today."

Congress is currently conducting an investigation into when the introductory 10% launch discount will relent.

Thinking about the CBS piece we ran at our station earlier that had soundbites from Elon Musk talking about the power of AI and how nothing in the story mentioned how his cars are running people over on their own.
