I can no longer show the MIRTH I am experiencing in text. I am forced to 😀! by default, I must instead 😁! and yet this still does not convey the same emotion as :D! My full digital self laid low, compacted into a numb representation of itself.

When emoji first started being popular, I was really obnoxious about insisting on using emoticons instead, before gradually shifting to overusing emoji out of convenience/habit.
These days, I'm finding myself shifting more and more back into the comforting embrace of :D and u_u
It's to the point where if I don't put the space in there it feels weird for me now
