This is lovely as always! The bit about sim building is really out there, too, in a neat way. Makes me wonder if that would just put Serene out of business? Whole slew of sim artists suddenly left without much to do~
I would consider what went on here to be sim building as environment generation. Fill this landscape with randomized stuff in this range. It's an environmental "flood fill" tool on the order of Minecraft but in smaller blocks and chunks. But what if you want a specific mountain peak, a specific crystal cave, a walkable canyon trail, etc?
Well, that's what the artists are here for.

And, it could be understandably misread! Also I wrote that reply just before 4am while getting ready for work, so also big sleepy haha
(honestly I was more interested in the development of Tiqvati and just got pulled off on a tangent with the sim building)
