How on Earth did I find myself so firmly embedded in plural life as a (nominally) singular person? I'm so fucking confused about myself haha

'i'm not plural! im not plural!!', i continue to insist as i slowly shrink and transform into a heap of, statistically speaking, 50½ skunks

I've low-key ID'd as plural for a while, but I kinda relate as someone who found a lot of success in IFS therapy, at least. I found much greater resonance in the idea that we are all, to varying degrees, made up of 'parts' and can benefit from checking in and having conversations with those parts.. and plurality was, in a way, my foray into having those inner conversations. Nowadays I tend to think we work best when we do things... as a conversation.

this stuff is a collection of spectra and i think it makes a ton of sense to neither fully inhabit "singular" or "plural," and just take the bits that are useful for you. if at some point those include community or identity labels, awesome! if not, also awesome, imo. the unitary self is kind of a lie anyway, and it makes sense to decide when it is and isn't a useful lie moment to moment :P

Mmhm! I guess I'm like...kinda in that spot where I'm feeling some sort of friction, but don't know what it is, so I'm left in the position of either holding very still and being uncomfortable or flailing out in the hope that I hit something. Ah well! It's a whole big basket of fascination for now.
