We've been picking over this one for a month and we've come to a conclusion that we can't separate about each other's desires, and we don't have one specific place we'd love to go. Our general desire falls into three categories: The Mountains, the Ocean, or the Desert.
We spend a lot of time in the Adirondacks as a kid, and to us that place is nostalgic and paradise. Lakes, endless forest, mountains that range from small to intimidating, and just generally a beautiful place at the top of the Appalachian chain. We worked up there a couple summers as well. We'd also love to go skiing again, and where better than the mountains? To us, that is where we belong, and living on the edge of the flatness of the midwest is rough. The high plains of minnesota did some real damage to our mental well-being. We need vertical terrain.
We also love the water, and carry a lot of nostalgia and love for Seven Mile Island on the Jersey Shore. It's been gentrified to a terrifying degree over the course of our lives, and it sucks to see it ever getting worse over the course of our lives, but the ocean has a pull on us deep, especially for Seras and Alex. We'd accept anywhere the water's warm, but there's something to be said for cold coastal rainy towns as well.
The desert sometimes feels more like a fantasy than a reality in terms of what we want, but it's done strange things to our brain every time we've been there, and we'd like to go back and spend a little time of our own accord, more than a fleeting day in transit. Flatness doesn't do good things for us, sure, but there's something about deserts that makes it wrap around into pure surreality, and we want to experience it until we get our fill.
Sorry this took us a month to answer ^ w ^;;;
