While 4e D&D had its share of faults, the way it approached class categorization through combat roles (leader/defender/striker/controller) and power sources (arcane/divine/martial/primal/psionic) was innovative and interesting! Once you included the PHB2&3, as well as the single classes included in the Eberron and Forgotten Realms hardcovers, every role/source combination had one or two entries, save for Martial Controller, the ONLY empty type.
my personal experience with 4e is lacking and I may have the roles a bit off in my head but I think a martial controller should be a wrestler or something
It should be noted that by ‘controller’ they more mean ‘crowd control’ than anything else, I think? The way they did the roles was interesting but also odd. Something like Battlemaster or Warlord would have been the best candidate for a Martial Controller, I think, but they used that archetype up as the Martial Leader instead.
Yeah they did some odd stuff that threw off expectations, and that’s part of the edition’s mixed response.
we honestly might be more in the mood to chat to an otherworldly entity trying to break through into this reality, this time of night
So the thing alot of people dont get about hydroponics is that the setup isnt actually expensive if you diy the reservoir, one can use bottles, tubs, buckets, anything that'll hold a volume of liquid and protect it from light, the nutrient isnt terribly soendy either if you get the bulk powder.
There is no real reason we should even be doing soil agriculture anymore because whatever blindspots there were in hydroponics in terns of what you can grow and how have been addressed by a multitude of different fertilizer concentrations and different hydroponics arrangements.
For example greens and smaller plants are better to be grown in NFT systems (nutrient film technique) because of the close proximity the plants can be set next to eachother and the low amount of maintanence. One pump can run dozens of plants with the right flow rate, and the right configuration. NFT can be built from cheap pvc or rain gutters cut to size with holes drilled.
Kratky hydroponics is extremely user friendly because its just a deep reservoir that the roots drink from when given light, virtually no maintanence, and no power unless grown indoors (light and airflow).
A common mistake of indoor growers is to not give proper airflow to plants, which effectively hakts its transpiration, not allowing itbto use capillary action to get water or nutrients up to the leaves, causing calcium deficiency and end burn. This can be solved easily by installing a fan to flow over the plants.
