Bowling alleys are different arcade ecosystems. they will always have at least 3 items off this list:

  • some sort of buck or other wild game hunting situation; Cabela's Big Buck Hunter or what have you
  • either Area 51 or Police Trainer, occasionally both
  • some sort of Cruis'n USA / Cruis'n Exotica or equivalent-- a driving game, but usually the worst driving game you've ever heard of rather than any of the good ones
  • a puzzle game. usually bust-a-move, sometimes Puzzle Fighter, and very occasionally (if you're really lucky) you'll get a Buster Bros. cabinet
  • Rhythm game, usually DDR but could be taiko drum master or any other Konami joint

now MOVIE THEATERS are a whole other beast ent-

movie theater arcades like to have

the star wars arcade light gun? (??) game or else the jurassic park light gun game (which owns hard) or else they have some other sort of gun game like Time Crisis 3, Gunblade NY, or Silent Scope and then have like one of those 2 or 4 seater racing games, and the racing game will usually be good. Daytona, Wangan Midnight, etc. if you're lucky you'll see an Initial D Arcade Stage machine there, and if you're truly top tier blessed it'll be a 3rd stage machine.

they'll also always have at least one UFO catcher and those like shitty tootsie roll redemption games too. they tend to have pretty strong arcades in general because they have both the theming and the space, typically, to employ a good selection. interesting situations

at least in my area when I was growing up, Primal Rage would be on this list. I don't recall seeing many puzzle or rhythm games, but those fucking dinosaurs were everywhere.
