Heard over on Bluesky that a lot of graphic violence videos are being uploaded to TikTok, so consider either not using it or using it with caution today. And please keep in mind that you don't need to expose yourself to horrors to be witness to history; it doesn't help anyone for you to be traumatized.
this, and given that twitter is also monetizing people who cause psychological damage, the same content is likely to end up there very quickly. a good day to stay away, if you haven't already given up on it entirely
if you have to read twitter for work or some other reason, I strongly recommend using nitter instead. I wrote up a piece about it last year in the aftermath of another set of horrors, and most of what I wrote still applies. it's less reliable now (for obvious reasons) and some instances don't work at all anymore, but the main one at nitter.net is usually functional, if slow. it will only show you accounts you ask to see, with no algo to decide you need to see something terrible, and does not give the nazi in charge any money because it also blocks ads
