for the first time since Tachibana Hibiki first became a magical girl and resigned herself to fighting to protect the woman she loves, someone finally stopped to talk to her rather than responding with violence. that someone was Suletta Mercury, who doesn't want to have to fight either. they embrace and Hibiki tells her everything's going to be okay before letting go as the villain of the crossover arc makes their dramatic appearance. as she climbs back into Aerial, her Gundam, Suletta thinks about Miorine and how she must fight to protect her. "へいき, へっちゃら!" she says to herself before leaping into battle, inspired by this strange girl with fists as strong as her Aerial.

I've been ruminating on this idea for a few days and haven't really gotten it quite right, but here's a shot at it.

Having not seen GGG but heard a lot about it: I wouldn't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. That said there is also a lot to be said about like, the structural similarities to "soft" mecha and magical girl, with subsequent interrogation of why one is often held to be more popular than the other.
