Many of you will have been watching this lengthy Quake documentary on Youtube, so you'll have heard most of this before, but not the part I'm going to tell you.
Famously there was this Quake tournament years ago in which the grand prize was John Carmack's Ferrari. It was called Red Annihilation, and apparently it's now regarded as the birth of esports or something. (dismissive handwave) What you probably don't know is that I worked at Mpath Interactive, the multiplayer hosting company which hosted the initial phase of the tournament, and I designed the tournament's logo.
I didn't think much of it at the time; my director asked me to do a logo for the tournament, one of many graphics I produced as the company's web designer, so I did, and next thing I knew they were slapping it on t-shirts and stuff... if I'd known they'd use it so widely I'd have made the resolution higher!
So yes, I really do have my tentacles in everything. <3
