Words are my favorite stim toy
in the meantime, enjoy this terrible phone quality encode of a station we receive on the world's cheapest AM radio
sorry no you don't get to listen to an entire song though because YOUR CALL IS IMPORTANT TO US
i'd take this over the local call centres
im not sure what audio source ours use but what comes over the line ends up sounding like whatever the audio equivalent of a deepfried jpeg is
Oh, maybe this is a border gap thing
Take a paper cup, poke a hole in the bottom, put some loose bits of tin foil in the bottom, stick another cup in on top, fill that with water, and then use a phone speaker through the hole of the lower cup, then it will be at the level of quality I usually heard it at on the phone and still hear it at in my nightmares
sorry ive been too preoccupied with how to actually make deepfried jpeg audio
like not "a lot of transcoding," literally an audio jpeg
(working theory: pass it through a fourier transform, save the amplitude and phase time series to image files, jpeg them, then reverse fourier transform the results...)
Alternatively, record it to a cassette, put that cassette through the dryer a couple of times, rerecorded that to another cassette, and then play it into a phone receiver
