I'm starting to see a few posts talking about doing in person meetups from people on Cohost, which is fine, but really proceed with caution. ESPECIALLY if you're young. Not that you're going to be kidnapped or murdered, but people's online and offline personas may be VERY different.
Cohost, broadly, has a really friendly and open culture, but that's only an impression. A lot of users take their preference for Cohost as a mark of moral quality of all users - i.e. "Of course I would never follow a poster to a second location if this was Twitter/Bluesky/Fark! Cohost is different!". It's just a social media platform - better than many, but still just a place where anyone can sign up and say whatever they want.
Let people know where you're going, or take a friend. If it's good, hell you have more cool people to hang out with! Nothing is ever lost with a just little caution.
Stressing the last two sentences, just be cautious
