It appears that I'm just listening to a bunch of Takako Ochiai works now! This is the first PS1 game that's just titled Inuyasha, not the 2002 game Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale which had a different sound team. As you might expect for a game set in like 1500s Japan, it's in the "video game music with traditional Japanese instruments" style. I tend to be a bit finicky about music in this style and found the soundtrack to mostly be pretty standard, but there are some nice chord changes here and there.
