in my "bad batch s3" era currently

you need to watch this show, man. spoiler thoughts under the cut

  • i love the juxtaposition of another fucking Mon Mothma dinner party with the prison scenes. this show knows how to drive home Class Differences

  • Saw Gerrera is perfect in this. I'm always kind of antsy around depictions of Saw for all the obvious reasons - he's a very easy character to fuck up. It's clear they're trying to set up his paranoid persona that we see in Rogue One here but what I love is that it's a paranoia that... makes sense. For all Saw knows, he truly is the only leftist in the galaxy. It's not safe to talk to anyone else, most of the other rebels he knows are (as he correctly puts it) Separatists or neo-Republicans. Why would he trust anyone at this point? Everyone isn't interested in actual change as much as they are interested in rebuilding a shitty system.

  • Luthen continues to be wonderful here. An innate survivalist, eking out resources wherever he can. I relish every scene he's in, there's just so much going on at all times. So many conflicting personas clashing within him.

  • Cinta and Vel... Cinta and Vel. One of my absolute favorite, all-timer angst tropes is the Battle Spouses, who realize too late that their relationship cannot survive when off the battlefield. Cinta and Vel are that. It's heartbreaking, and you know it's coming. Cinta is more committed, and Vel knows it. Cinta's told her this. You can see their entire future etched out in that one scene. Gorgeous. Heartbreaking.

  • Shout out to Brasso, the absolute realest one there's ever been on television. King. That dude fucking kicks so much ass it's insane. I want to be Brasso

YEAH!! I am SO curious what that meant... I have to imagine he was like, at least a little bit more radical? I can't imagine Mon falling for him otherwise. I love their shitty deteriorating marriage. I can't wait for her to cheat on him with Tay Kolma

I think it means he was like, way left of her??? But what does that mean in the world of the Republic? Gotta be more radical than whatever Padme was doing, so was he out there saying Separatism= good? Was he against the clone army (unlikely since he seems to like his ancient war artifacts??) Also, yes! Tay is so charming and put together, and I'm really glad they have him be polite to Perrin at least. Seems like just a good dude. Can't wait until they explain why Mon + Tay didn't get together.

the way they're showing Cinta as this True Believer rebel is so fucking cool, especially after we get that sort of coming after Vel seemed like that one, out of the Aldhani group. It's so much more clear now that like... Cinta is the one who really was the backbone of that group, she's the one who's done this shit before, and Vel is a bit (understandably!!) freaked out after Aldhani went so south.

And you're right, not enough people are talking about squigs. we need more squigposting
