STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS

spoilers under the cut.

  • absolutely buckwild going insane in the voice chat like 7 times this episode. this is the best episode yet which is ridiculous because they're ALL THIS GOOD

  • "never more than twelve" LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Vel IS MON MOTHMA'S FUCKING COUSIN!!! This honestly made SO much sense to me. This is like, the most perfect addition to Mon's lore - this explains SO much. She knows intimately what the rebellion is like, because she talks to VEL about it. Probably just obliquely, but still - Mon has skin in the game. We have never SEEN that before.

  • Bix Caleen and Dedra Meero hateship has been born

  • SYRIL KARN DOWN ATROCIOUS. SYRIL KARN IS SO FUCKING DOWN BAD FOR THIS NAZI WOMAN. They were both flirting in that scene. God. Amazing.

  • Luthen was ferrying funds between MON MOTHMA and fucking VEL, her fucking COUSIN!! THE TEXTURES THIS GIVES LUTHEN. I'm losing my fucking mind man.

  • everyone in this show deserves an emmy

  • beautiful terrifying scene with the Gorst torture device. I love it when star wars mentions offhandedly these historical things - it's such wonderful worldbuilding. Don't show me the place, let me see it in my mind's eye.

  • Beautiful acting from Genevieve O'Reilly as Mothma in this, like genuinely amazing layers of conveying emotion and conversation and communication in glances in this. My god. My GOD man.

i don't even know what else to say man. this episode was so good i can't even think about it much yet. I barely even MENTIONED the prison stuff. dude. Dude. This is the best star wars we've EVER GOTTEN. THIS IS TELEVISION!!!!!!!! THIS IS FUCKING CINEMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the story behind that torture device too, terrifying. i'm glad this show is committing to the evil empire that star wars sets up, we s e e it here. and the coup de grace of syril and dedra being such pathetic horny worms. CINEMA

the torture thing was such a great touch - really pushing the idea of the empire being this ridiculous, constantly growing, constantly eating itself machine of expansion. it really feels like it's driving into the stuff that is often just gestured at
