You know how when you open a folder full of MP3 or WAV files, and windows takes several seconds (up to several minutes on my old computer) trying to extract tags, calculate length, and a bunch of other things for those files? And then it displays those to you in columns while omitting things like "Last modified" or "File size" or "Extension"? You know, the important columns for managing files?
Like, Explorer isn't a music player so why is it showing me all this stuff?
Well, there's no reasonable way to tell windows "Just stop all that garbage and please show them as normal files". You have to do it on a folder-by-folder basis (and it does not recurse to subfolders) or go futzing around in the registry (which no reasonable person should be doing in 2023 (i am not a reasonable person)).

Anyway! Thanks to some random reddit post, I finally found WinSetView!!!
It lets you globally set the view for all folders on your computer in perpetuity without having to futz with the registry at all. And it lets you be extremely granular, although I just basically made everything a normal "Detailed" view except for pictures, which gets "Large Icons". I cannot tell you how happy I am about this. And I wanted to share it with you.
