a cute sketch, i think, and a pretty good first effort for someone who doesn't really know how to work with samples. i learned a lot doing this!!! now to make a real song?

in reply to @Cania's post:

Honestly... breakbeat, breakcore, jungle, they're all siblings in the same general family of drum'n'bass. After a point, I feel like fitting things into a genre is effectively based on vibes or historical markers (i.e. jungle was how we called DnB before a specific point in time but now isn't the time to go into a deep dive). Don't worry about it, the music is good and that's what matters.

I'm reminded of classic DnB pieces when I listen to this, specifically from that particular point in time, late 90s to early 00s. what I like to call Playstation-era drum'n'bass. There's that feeling this is from an unreleased game in the Rage Racer franchise, with a sick track name like I dunno, Cania Stream. I'm spitballing. I just woke up, this pleases my ears, I'm inspired.

Also if you release it on bandcamp I'm buying it.

i have been listening to a shocking amount of 90's and 00's DnB along with some of the newer stuff, and I did a set a while ago that was just Video Game DnB - there's a shitload of it!! It's really inspiring to me, and I love how much variance there is in the whole genre. I missed a lot of this when I was around for it (too young to rave, never had a PSX, etc.) so it's been really rewarding catching up.

I am beyond thrilled to be compared to rage racer, damn. thank you.
