I blanked out all the names here because (1) i don't wanna dunk on anyone specific but also (2) i don't want to fall into the very trap of vagueposting that I'm complaining about. I'm talking specifically about the second post in the screenshot above which I've seen floating around a lot on my timeline, and how it seems to have affected the person in the post above it.
Regardless of how true a post is, or who it's "supposed" to target, this kind of vagueposting is always going to hurt unintended targets. I get that venting is important but this is, in fact, a public space. If a post gets shared a bunch, it's going to get interpreted all kinds of ways, and so specificity is incredibly important.
So please for the love of your fellow creatures, either be specific when you write something grumpy in public, vent in a more private space, or at the very least disable shares to mitigate the potential harm. It fucking sucks to see a post floating around that may or may not be directed at you, since directly calling it out makes you look like an asshole anyway. It's a lose-lose situation so let's just, not fucking do it anymore okay thanks
