Rose, the waitress at the Oh Deer Diner, was obsessed with Alan. She loved crime fiction almost as much as she loved Dean Koontz-tier writing. Wake was the complete package.

In Bright Falls, it wasn't unusual at all for a cute young small-town-girl-next-door-50's-diner-waitress-type to have a hyperfixation like this. In fact, Rose was in a local Alan Wake Book Club with a nurse, a secretary, a nun, a milkmaid over in Watery, and a woman who smoked long cigarettes and looked almost exactly like Jessica Rabbit from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", but blonde.
