Yeah, Outer Wilds was truly special for me. I have a video essay script I may one day use, that ends:
Sometimes there is nothing you can do when the world ends (or feels like it is). Sometimes all you can do is sit with friends, listening to a song, and accept the world as it is — and the world that will be.
That acceptance of things you can't change, whether it's death, the end of the universe, the pandemic changing the world irrecoverably, chronic illness... Was (and is) very meaningful to me.
(I also loved the DLC, and I feel that it only adds to/complements that theme, but I understand your perspective!)
