I'll always be proud of myself for catgon as a fursona (aka Mira, I'll just apparently never not feel a little silly sharing a name with my fursona). She came out of a particular transitional period of my life where I was trying to move away from being just "some depressed closeted awkward trans girl" to... something closer to what I'd wanted to actually be! And she's where I really could feel the opportunity to take the wheel and steer, in that process.
So, her design says something -- one very big thing, past "I like pink, cats, and am a lesbian". Her design says "I have somewhere I'm trying to go, and I'm probably not going to really get there, but even just trying and changing whatever amount I can will make me something beautiful, and unique, and me." She's a cat who wanted to be a dragon, used magic to try and get there, and managed to get no more than a tail and horns (and a few other things but those are just horny). She's a statement (to myself, back then) that partial change is still change, and still valuable to me.
Also having a big fat clumsy tail with enough outsized weight to cause damage to structures is just good.
