Just a quick update today. I'm still working hard on making levels, but I also decided to make the Lock Block and the Hole Tile look a bit better.


The Lock Block now has a little animation when it's unlocked! The Lock Block from previous devlogs. The keyhole glows white, then vanishes as the padlock glows; the padlock vanishes as the first links in the chain glow; and so on until the chain is gone.

As for the Hole Tile, I decided to bring it in line with the perspective of the other blocks, so it looks like this now: A black tile with a red rectangle on the top. It doesn't look great all by itself, but it looks just fine in game, like so: I also added a black border to the filled tile, just to bring it in line with the art style: The Filled Hole tile, but with a black border.

Soooo, yeah! I adjusted the Lock Block's code to play the animation before fully unlocking, and I'll likely do the same with the Boom Block once I have an animation for it. Until then!
