it's ok. what you need first is a placeholder, something that exists and you can update later on, and people will see. We can do that in about, oh like 10 minutes. It's easy!
Step 1: Go register on Nekoweb. You need an email to sign up, but it's free.
Then you'll see a page like this, this is your Dashboard.
So normally you'd start hand writing a website or whatever, but we don't have time for that. We're going to use RuSShdown to do all of the work for us.
You do have to fill the stuff out for creating a new RSS feed. Your link is yourname.nekoweb.org, you can put jibberish in the email if you don't want to put it on your feed. Just say in the post body that this is a placeholder. Or say more if you want. You can use markdown just like in Cohost, and you'll also see the HTML output over on the far right. Foreshadowing!
Scroll down to "Generate Feed", and a little file called "rss.xml" will be downloaded. Go back to the Nekoweb dashboard and upload that.
You now have an RSS feed! You can use RuSShdown to update it later... but we don't have time for that. We just want a placeholder. Go ahead and bookmark RuSShdown though.
We'll be going right back to RuSShdown now. Just delete whatever you wrote for your first feed post, and write what you want to put on the website. The only trick you need to know here, is to link your RSS feed. You can literally ONLY type that in, if you want.
[My RSS feed! I'll update this when I get around to working on my website](https://yourname.nekoweb.org/rss.xml)
Obviously with "yourname" replaced. If you already use an RSS reader, you can paste the URL into your reader to check your feed, obvs.
Anyway after you're done writing, copy everything in the HTML box on the right side.
Then go to your nekoweb dashboard, and click "edit" next to "index.html". You'll see this placeholder file:
Paste your stuff right there where it says This is <b>your</b> page! Fill it up with your content!!!! NOW!, like so:
Then hit save in the top left. That's it! You're done! You have a perfectly acceptable placeholder website and RSS feed, that you can leave until you're ready to make a new website. You can make your website on Nekoweb, or somewhere else. You just have to come back and download your rss.xml file, paste it into RuSShdown, and make a new post telling everyone about what you did. And they'll know!
That's all you have to do! No one is going to get upset at you for having a raw html, no styling no nothing website, if you spent 10 minutes on it.
