it really sucks that purely AI-generated art made it into an official Wizards of the Coast supplement because the 'artist,' and I use that term loosely, didn't disclose that fact to Wizards, a very definite breach of contract as AI art can't be copyrighted, and while I DO fully believe WotC didn't know, the more alarming thing is that they didn't know because it suggests their art direction for a current-release product is SO ATROCIOUS that their review process let not only a character with a foot that looks like it was part of the Chernobyl nuclear sarcophagus slip through, but also a character that is very clearly sampled from concept art of Lady Hellbender from the Guardians of the Galaxy game

like how asleep at the wheel do you have to be to not notice or check whether a submission was an AI-generated vomit pile of another company's concept art? this suggests SO MUCH about how much of a meatgrinder WotC's content mill is right now that this slipped the net

Considering wizards haven't made an statement or polices towards AI generated content to my knowledge this is not surprising, part of me wants to thing they were waiting for someone to use it in a book and see if anyone noticed/care, as apparently the person who made the "art" is also an NFT person but that feel more like conjecture then fact.

Just all around more and more reasons to really not want to touch anything wizard related with a ten foot poll.
