Never mind, looks like my little drawing break is gonna last longer than a week because five minutes after I posted that, my drawing tablet suddenly decided not to work anymore :)
USB connection cuts in and out like every couple seconds and, for the first time ever, it doesn't seem to be a faulty cable or a driver issue. The micro usb port on the tablet itself has started feeling a little wobbly in recent years and I think it's just finally given up. Not sure what to do about this. I think my warranty expired like 7 years ago
Apparently it actually was a faulty cable and everything's fine now. I had assumed the cable wasn't the problem because it still worked perfectly with other devices, which I've never seen happen before unless the cable is not the problem.
I wanted to be absolutely sure though, so I bought a new cable to test it (none of the other 300 micro usb cables I had lying around would work because the port on my tablet is inset into a stupid little narrow hole, and nothing I already had would fit because the casing around the ends of the cables were all too big)
...And the new cable just works perfectly fine?? I feel a little silly now but at least I don't have to worry about buying a new tablet just yet
