Hey there Cohost!
I recently finished a short piece for a little spooky Halloween scoring competition. It was a fun project with some interesting restrictions:
- 90 seconds in length at most
- it must respond to the supplied spooky image (by concept artist: Andy Walsh)
- limited orchestral size: only one percussionist; only one flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon player, etc.
We'll find out next week if my piece is a finalist (aaa!) but in the meantime, you can listen to the mockup via YouTube!
An advantage YouTube offers is that I have added composer commentary to the video as captions. So you can read along as you listen and learn more about what you're hearing! I'm thinking a lot lately about making more music communication and ambassadorship part of my normal output, and I thought this would be neat way to do so. Look for more music in the near future =)
