So many artists I follow have held this up as a life-changing book. For me, at least, it wasn't.
I expected to learn some great new ways to share my artistic life online (such as it is), and how to get over myself a little bit. But this book bounced off of me, for whatever reason. The advice was generally familiar, and without any new inspiration to push my thinking forward.
The War of Art was a fantastic text that really changed my work. I wanted something similar, but for putting myself out there, and sadly this wasn't it. Maybe I need to reread Derek Sivers' Your Music And People.
it is only because of this book's thesis on what to share that I am posting a short blurb on the book, so maybe it taught me something about online presence after all 🤔
